European Excursion

I have a 2nd cousin who lives in Germany. 5 years ago she came to stay with my family in the states, and we instantly clicked! We made a promise to each other during her stay. Our promise was that she would be at my wedding and I would be at hers. The following summer a girlfriend and I went to travel Italy and Germany, as well as visit my cousin. Every young girl needs a big trip with a dear friend before she gets married! It should be a right of passage. The freedom of traveling by yourself and the novelty of a new country is indescribable. I will still tell people to this day,"Feeling lost in a new culture and a new way of life could perhaps be the most exhilarating feeling in the world."

The following year Jordin and I tied the knot! My cousin fulfilled her end of the bargain and came to the wedding, so it was time to fulfill mine when she became engaged! Jordin and I looked at it as one last grand adventure before we start a family (I am still urging him to squeeze in a few more). We met my mom, dad, and brother in France and had another amazing European excursion! My first time in Europe was an amazing experience, but traveling back with the ones you love most is indescribable in itself!
Here are some of the pics...

Fun at the beach!

I'm from California, so you could say I'm little "spoiled" when it comes to beaches. Jordin and I went to Port Aransas for our first "Texas beach experience." I was pleasantly surprised. The small town feel mixed with the laid back beach feel was so refreshing! This quiet little fishing town was full of the nicest people. Californians are nowhere near as friendly as Texas, so I am still caught off guard when someone starts randomly talking to me so warmly. A lot of natives complain about the beaches here, but I am one California/Texan that loves them. It is the perfect harmony of the beach life (minus palm trees) mixed with good people, who could not love that?

Audrey's 1st Cake Smash~

New rule: EVERY 1ST BIRTHDAY MUST ACCOMPANY A CAKE SMASH!

Audrey's cake smash session was so much fun! Don't ask dad about it though, the cake smash location: Dad's new hardwood floor! He was on pins and needles the whole time! The common phrase of the day was "this WILL come out... right Kim?"
Audrey was her usual precious self. She is definitely my top model, she can work that camera! She was so excited when the cake came out. The cake was ADORABLE, so we had to make sure we got some good shots before it was destroyed. She would start to go for the cake and mama would say "no, not yet.." and Audrey would shake her head "no." Well, by the time it was time to CAKE SMASH she would still shake her head "no!" TOO FUNNY! What a good little girl, she listens to her mommy and daddy so well! We had to do some prompting to get her dirty, but as soon as she had one handful of pink frosting, she kept coming back for more!

Baby Fritz

Welcome to baby Fritz's big debut!
Fritz's mommy and I had such a fun day! She is one of my dear friends, so it was easy spending a day at work with such good company! She shared with me all of her new stories of being a first time mommy, and I have to admit, my baby fever heightened a bit. When we initially started, I learned right away that my schedule was of no importance to Fritz, we were on Fritz's schedule! Between the breast feeding, diaper changes, swooning, and cuddling breaks, we got some great shots! While I was editing the pictures I could not help but to see the innocence and pure beauty of a newborn. That part was probably my favorite...capturing the first few weeks of a baby's life, when everything is so new and OH SO PRECIOUS!
